If laughter is the best medicine, then Sandy Hackett is a Veterinarian. He has arrived and audiences are responding. Buddy Hackett’s gene pool has produced an outstanding talent… the next generation Hackett, his name is Sandy. His pedigree in comedy is as good as one can ever have. At the tender age of eleven Sandy debuted on "Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In". At 15 he performed at Westbury Music Fair in New York, before 3,000 people. Sandy attended UNLV studying Hotel Management, where he received his degree and promptly launched himself into the world of stand-up comedy. He honed his comedic skills on the famed Casbar stage of the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, (If you never heard of it, then disregard the word
famed.) Sandy was a natural, but expectations were high for the son of a superstar. "It was never easy, everybody expected me to be great. I wasn’t at first, but it was always my goal." Sandy improved quickly and was soon working the Playboy and Comedy Club circuits. He got additional seasoning at the neighborhood supermarket in aisle 5. If we put a smile on your face with this one wait till you see Sandy in person.
A casting director for CBS saw Sandy and cast him in a TV pilot. Sandy fell in love with acting and soon landed a featured role in "Hot Dog the Movie". The producers later cast Sandy in a leading role in "Hamburger the Motion Picture." (What’s his next movie? Make up your own joke we’ve heard em all.) Soon after Sandy landed another lead as the bad guy in the action adventure film "Ex-Cop".
Over the years he has done several TV pilots, and portrayed dozens of roles in film and television. In 1998 he was cast as a lead in the PBS series "On Common Ground," portraying District Attorney, Martin Siegel. Sandy then premiered his own one hour nightly TV talk show, broadcast live in Las Vegas. The show was an immediate success and Sandy was approached by a syndicator to take his show national. Look for his latest project, "Las Vegas Tonight with Sandy Hackett" sometime in the future, weather permitting.
The millinium ended with Sandy acting, singing, & dancing in a brand new musical holiday spectacular called "TWAS". Sandy also co- stars in "THE S.I.N", a feature film soon to be released Summer 2002. Sandy currently hosts his own nationally syndicated weekly radio & television shows broadcast from the Imperial Palace located center strip in Las Vegas . Sandy will guest on "Politically Incorrect" June 2002.
Sandy has entertained audiences in just about every venue possible. From the main showrooms of Las Vegas and Atlantic City, to Canada, Mexico and even New Zealand. As an entrepreneur , Sandy has owned Comedy Clubs in Las Vegas, Laughlin and now produces a variety of entertainment for Del Webb Sun City Communities around the country. Sandy is under the savvy management of showman Gary Mitchell.
